The Green Fairy

This was the first major character model I worked on at Conical. I helped with the redesign, retopology, and rig of her character for use in both mobile AR apps, a VR experience, and 3D animations. We tweaked Green Fairy's base model to create the rest of the fairy characters as well.
I was responsible for many motion capture based body animations across this transmedia project. I also worked on facial animations using Faceware.

The main parts of the redesign and retopology was focused on fleshing out her mesh to have more realistic body proportions and updating her dress design. We also made her a bit shorter!

I worked in 3DS Max, ZBrush, and Maya to tweak her mesh, her rig was recreated and skinned in Maya.

Green Fairy Transmedia Overview

One of the many vlogs created for The Green Fairy brand

Green Fairy Shot Breakdown - I worked on facial animation for many of the shots in the vlogs using Faceware and Motionbuilder. We used the facial capture from our actors as a guide and hand animated facial blendshapes over the top to exaggerate motion.

For the Green Fairy, we aimed for mid-poly for the character models as she was used for both virtual and augmented reality purposes.

I used Green Fairy's face as a base for the other fairy characters by bringing her head to ZBrush to tweak face shapes for Red Fairy and Cassandra. Their "hair" was then modelled and applied in 3DSMax.
